On My Own Time Art Exhibit Runs April 28-May 17

Syracuse University faculty and staff are invited to share their talent and creativity by displaying paintings, photos, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry and other creations in the On My Own Time (OMOT) exhibit in the Noble Room of Hendricks Chapel.

Share Your Inspiration and Submit Your Artwork

Please complete an entry form by April 24. Up to three pieces of art can be submitted on April 27 at the Strates Lounge on the lower floor of Hendricks Chapel between 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Viewing and Voting

The exhibit runs April 28–May 17 and can be viewed weekdays during standard business hours. Employees are encouraged to view all entries and vote for entries that may be displayed at the Everson Museum in October. There is a closing reception for artists, friends and family, and volunteers on the exhibit’s last day.

Volunteers Needed

If you want to help with the show, volunteers are needed to check in art on April 27, set up the show on April 28, and other duties on May 17.

Health and Wellness Expo on March 29th

The Department of Recreation Services is once again hosting the Health and Wellness Expo on Wednesday, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Flanagan Gymnasium.  The event is free and open to all faculty, staff and students with valid SU/ESF ID.

The event hosts more than 50 vendors who offer a variety of health and wellness-related services, resources and products available on and off campus, such as chiropractic care, stress reduction, mindful eating, yoga and more.  Among the group of vendors will be representatives from the employee benefits programs, including POMCO, OptumRx, Delta Dental and TIAA. Information will also be available about the University Wellness Initiative, the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program through Carebridge, and VSP vision benefits. Stop by the vendors’ tables for product demonstrations, free samples, information and activities.

SVP/CHRO Open Door Office Hours

Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Andrew R. Gordon holds regular office hours to engage in open dialogue and to solicit feedback from the campus community. His office hours are held on Wednesdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in 434 Crouse Hinds Hall.

Pay and Time Reporting for Winter Storm Stella

We greatly appreciate the patience and dedication of all of our faculty and staff over the past couple of days in handling the impact of Winter Storm Stella on the University’s operations. Submit 2016 FSA Claims by April 30

Remember to submit any 2016 expenses to WageWorks for your eligible dependent care and health care flexible spending account by April 30, 2017 for expenses incurred by December 31, 2016.

Unused funds in your 2016 dependent care care FSA will be forfeited if they are not claimed by the April 30 deadline.  If you have unused funds in your 2016 health care FSA, WageWorks will rollover up to $500 to your 2017 FSA; amounts over $500 will be forfeited.

You can review eligible expenses and download claim forms at www.wageworks.com and review more information at humanreseources.syr.edu/fsa.  You can also submit claims online or using the EZReceipts mobile app for iOS and Android. Contact WageWorks toll-free at 1.877.924.3967 with any questions.

2016-17 Winter Break/Green Days Operating Schedule

The University will be operating under its “Green Days” format for the Winter Break period from 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 through Monday, January 2, 2017.  Beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, December 22, all University buildings will operate on a reduced occupancy schedule; the buildings will return to normal occupancy schedule on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
